True, in the AvP 1 game (at least), elevators moving would trigger the sensor (making my heartbeat go nuts).

Forced conscription. Tywin was shown as preferring to put to good use perfectly good prisoners instead of killing them. This guy is fit so he can wield a weapon so he's to do soldiering.

Not everybody was a knight born and raised to be a great fighter. Most of the infantry are peasants obligated to fight for their lords. Cheap cannon fodder.

I understand you want a more guided or story-oriented experience, that's fine too. But for me it was nice to have a game that allowed me to quickly play 20 minutes blowing off steam and moving to something else feeling badass because I got to do whatever I wanted to do.

Saboteur is also fantastic in this way. The first 15 minutes of the game are linear and frankly crappy but then they go "here's Paris, blow up Nazis, oh and we pay you for everything you destroy so you can get better gear".

Politics man, the moment a group of people are oppressed sufficiently, extreme violence seems like the only tool. Sure religion is a nice tool to justify someone blowing himself up since you can promise him things after death. But a better life for his children or his brothers probably works in a desperate enough situation.

Muslims didn't invent suicide bombs. One of the first attempted suicide bombers was German and a certain Hitler was his target. Bad timing made him abort but the guy was going to do it for the betterment of his country.

You are right, the "ha ha funny" spy genre is still a bit lacking with a few mediocre entries. I also fear that the sub-par "The sum of all fears" killed the Tom Clancyan techno-spy-thriller.

I could really go for another Tom Clancy movie.

Not only it did the VR thing in a non-cringe-inducing way but it also did MMOs.

Eastern-European futuristic movie directed by Ghost in the Shell director, it could only have been awesome.

It's your right but really, you didn't enjoy it? Sure the "story" and "missions" are just there to get the ball rolling but the beauty of that game was ignoring everything and just finding innovative ways to blow up stuff.

Screw MB, get the guy who did Crank. This would be right down his alley. Add Antonio Banderas and you got a kickass stey going.

Now that I think about it, Robert Rodriguez would direct the shit out of such movie and it would be grand.

I don't know, I'm not much of a Moore Bond kind of guys. Goldeneye was just perfect in the gadget/action/cheese mixture as any pre-Bourne Bond was going to get.

Brosnan, for all the fine Bond he was, was getting too old for it. In the last one (which I can't even name from memory so much it was unmemorable) he looked downright flabby. Craig as a iceberg-eyed reckless yet powerful and effective killer was just what the franchise needed. Mission Impossible is doing plenty in the gadget'n'crazy-action'n'laughs department so there's a bit for everyone in the spy department (with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Co. covering the 70s ultra-serious brainy spycraft drama).

I have struggled with finding reasons to upgrade my +4 year old rig. Swapped GPUs because the older one died on me and it can run pretty much anything new at either full resolution and detail or close with very few exceptions.

That means 4gb and I haven't bothered reinstalling Windows in x64 because it means a clean install as there is no migration path and I don't feel like reinstalling all my games.

That said I'll be happy to upgrade when games become more demanding (i.e. stop being dragged down by console specs).

It's not the explosion, it's the shrapnel. They put ball bearings, nails and other small metallic junk that gets turned into fast moving projectiles when it all goes off.
