That's the downtown core. Only hard core cyclists would brave that area. This is the worst street for biking on and the one that can obviously afford a bike lane.

I'm going into math and stats this fall, I have 6 electives (one has to be science) and I don't want to write an essay... by YachtLyfein McMaster

[–]nanuq905 0 points1 point ago

Electives aren't meant to be throw-away courses unrelated to your major (although a lot of people treat them as such). Electives should be chosen to complement your degree. For example, during my undergraduate in Medical Physics, I took an elective in programming and an elective in biochem. Best decisions of my life. Those courses have helped me shine above me peers on many different occasions.

I would recommend you take some time to think about what you want to do with your math and stats degree. A lot of math and stats majors end up working in business. So maybe take an economics course?

Also consider that taking a bird course like pop music is a waste of your tuition fees.

An awesome new chicken recipe that my children loved! by nduvalrocksin slowcooking

Like the standard slow-cooker pot roast, this is a saltlick in a bowl. Powdered dressing, condensed cream soup, AND cream cheese? Blech.

Just my two cents, regarding slow-cooker pulled pork recipes. by groglisterinein slowcooking

When I use half a bottle of root beer, I end up with about 2-3 cups of liquid. I just pull the meat out with tongs and shred it in a bowl.

I could do that, and sometimes do, but here's why I usually don't:

Time. I use a slow cooker because I prep the night before, start it in the AM and come home to a finished dinner. Some days I don't want to spend time in the kitchen (although some other days I never leave it).

Have you looked into Robert J Sawyer? I like his Sci Fi, and he's got a new book (not sure if there's an audiobook yet) called Triggers that I've yet to read. If you were going to start, I would begin with Flash Forward.

Have you met McMaster University? It's all about the bottom line. Atleast, that's been my experience there (experience = 10 years of post-secondary education).

I would agree with you, except for all the federal bail outs that have had to happen in the past. I own that company, god damnit!

Oh really? I'm sure the hundreds of children that go through my local children's hospital every year would be happy to hear you say that.

As much as I wish I could agree, McMaster is a business and will rent out its facilities to anyone willing to pay the fee.

You should have seen this gem that was on campus a couple weeks ago. They were really batshit crazy (didn't go, but friends of mine did).

Is it common practice to add a senior professor to the list of authors of an article, if they didn't even read it? by easteuropetrollin AskAcademia

[–]nanuq905 3 points4 points ago

This is why I ended up quitting my professional organization. They wanted people's names on a non-academic article I wrote for the quarterly newsletter when they didn't have a single finger in its production.
