Tony Blair and George Bush's phone conversation a week before Iraq invasion 'must be released' by waggawaggain worldnews

Your first paragraph reminded me of the way Stephen Fry reacted to Ann Widdicome on an Intelligence Squared debate

edit: when I say reacted, I mean, he put her in her place.

I won't Google for you but here's one

And as I mentioned, spelt/rye. Google them to see the difference between these and the crap industrialised grains.

From this article

One of the earliest domesticated grains, spelt hasn’t changed since Biblical times. It remains unaffected by concepts such as ‘agribusiness’, ‘cross-breeding,’ ‘hybridization’ and ‘genetically modified’

Don't miss out!!

Have you been to your doctor?

If I were you, if you still have the pain, I wouldn't run. There will be a next time but if you push yourself now, there may not be a next time (that is extreme though)

Do you only run or do you do leg strengthening exercises?

Most things are awesome roasted

I agree except with things that are supposed to be in a salad like peppers, red onions and such like. I think they get ruined.

But roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips .... are just heavenly.

What's wrong with bread? There are some very nice grains out there (spelt, rye) and bread without yeast (sourdough/soda)

For me, there's nothing like a good slice of good quality bread with something nice on it - banana being my favourite.

This is Sunday: What were your running achievements this week? by seydarin running

[–]gmfthelp 2 points3 points ago

My sister ran her first 10k in just over 1hr (1hr2m) and I ran round with her trying to get her in under 1hr. I failed :(

Still, she's got the bug and is looking forward to the next run. So mission accomplished in that respect and she now has a good benchmark.

Nice one, mate.

I wish you every success in the future and the biggest tip I can give to anyone is, don't listen to negative things that people say as you don't know what their motives are. If they have low self esteem (no matter how fit, beautiful, slim they are) they will try and put others down.

Stay true to yourself and do what feel right for you.

Again, good luck and keep posting your progress.

Keep on Keeping on

What's the next step? by AGreatGuyin rails

[–]gmfthelp 0 points1 point ago

I didn't take notes, no. I'm a relatively experienced developer (C, Perl and some Java) so I really just read it and if I need to refresh my knowledge in the future, I know where in the book to go.

Good luck with your venture into Ruby and programming.

What's the next step? by AGreatGuyin rails

[–]gmfthelp 0 points1 point ago

There's a new code reader's group that's been set up

on githun

If you're not a Ruby programmer, then you would be wise to learn Ruby. The best resource I've used is TWGR

It's not a cheap book but it's a brilliant read.

Otherwise, just hunt around, read as much as you can. you will learn to separate the wheat from the chaff.

How to piss off a Brit by Fealiksin unitedkingdom

[–]gmfthelp -2 points-1 points ago

I have to admit, after living outside of the UK for so long now, the thought of having milk in my tea is just disgusting. Plus, I find English tea too bitter for my taste buds now.

Green tea all the way for me now. Though I do leave my bag in for the duration. Does that make me a hypocrite for saying English tea is too bitter?

David Cameron: I get the message - but reform takes time by Aethelstanin unitedkingdom

[–]gmfthelp 0 points1 point ago

That's not what I'm saying. They had 13 years out of govt. and it looks very unlikely they'll be voted in next time.

I'm certainly not pro labour.

[–]gmfthelp 1 point2 points ago

Didn't they have 13 years to think about it? They may have another 15 to think about them again after they're voted out.
