I'm going to get downed to hell but this is for the over-35 crowd. Which posts, clearly by 20-somethings, make you cringe? I'll start. by jingowattin AskReddit

[–]enkafan 120 points121 points ago

Cooking, movies and the funny is just a maturity thing. Not really cringe worthy to me, just an "aww, they are growing up"

Cringe worthy are the "lol, i totally pissed <insert authority figure> off by using my SUPERIOR LOGIC abilities to PROVE they are stupid and I am better". Jesus those are awkward. Thank god when I went through that phase the internet wasnt as good at saving everything you typed out.

Help me with a college decision (not from KY) by scomet18in Louisville

[–]enkafan 2 points3 points ago

BU would be a great school for what you are looking at from a learning perspective. But let's keep in mind that as I type this, Bellarmine has a squiggly line under it in Chrome because it doesn't recognize the word...

But when I graduated (2002) I applied to a lot of big name companies (e.g. Microsoft, Intel, etc) and Bellarmine wasn't even on their drop down list of what college I went to when I applied online. Their reputation is growing nationally, in no small part to the basketball and lacrosse team, but it still isn't like going to a big name school.

That being said, my buddy graduated from Cornell and here in Louisville we are on about equal footing when it comes to college reputation with employeers. In fact, it probably gives me more opportunity than she has. But that's how Louisville is - we take care of our own. So if you are looking to stay in the Louisville area, Bellarmine is a great way to go. Looking to have a college stand out on a resume on the west coast, there are other options available.

I'm always a bit uncomfortable with the lyrics to summer night. Seems to me that they are singing about date rape....

I may or may not sing "Would you like to swing on a star" to myself while doing "sneak" missions in video games.

or would you rather be a pig

EF 4.3 Released by oursin dotnet

I'd also love to hear someone that is using it in production - especially code first development. Until this release I've never considered it something I'd use. No real reason, it just didn't feel right to me

I've probably put in over 1000 miles in Cherokee Park and I'd be lying to you if I didn't say I've had to add 2 miles to a run after a wrong turn or eight.

What is wrong with REO Speedwagon? Naming a band after a type of firetruck doesn't seem much worse than M83, Mogwai or Kei$ha

Two minute ads run frequently during the superbowl. For example, the original terry tate ad is four minutes long

To be fair, I dated an italian girl (she was first generation in america) and all her aunts and uncles that moved here loved olive garden. It is apparently very close to their comfort food that they grew up eating because they weren't fancy pants cooks or had a terrible amount of money

It'd be like going to an "American" restaurant in Italy and complaining that they serve grilled cheese sandwiches, greasy burgers, waffles, fried chicken and chicken noodle soup.

Any quiet bars to read and do homework in? by allowableearthin Louisville

[–]enkafan 1 point2 points ago

at what hour? between 5pm and 8pm both mollys and o'shea's I found I could sit and not be disturbed after work. Both have spots you can kind of hide at during the diner rush. Osheas in the side room at the front of the building is generally well lit and only has seating for a few people along with a table that really on sits 3 people. Mollys has some booths in the front that are surprisingly quiet.

Both places are fantastic in the spring too.

That new Ferris Bueller movie? Ya, it's an ad for Honda by frolie0in entertainment

[–]enkafan 3 points4 points ago

There is a theory that movie is really not about Ferris, but rather Cameron, and that Ferris is merely a figment of Cameron's imagination.
