Ah ok, so the deployment scripts contain the authentication info and add that info when the files are moved from the development server to the production server. I had it backwards. I was thinking that the authentication info was being read from an external file that wasn't in the source tree.

Can you elaborate on this? How exactly do you read the authentication info from the config files? Are you encrypting the config files to prevent that information from being readable? If it's not obvious from these questions, I'm relatively new to web development.

I have this same problem, it sucks. It's happened to me twice. Both times it seemed that I was attracted to the girl because she liked me, not because I liked her. I think the cause of this is that I don't get a lot of attention from girls.

Both times it seemed we skipped the part where we bond and establish a connection and went right to the romantic aspect of a relationship. Like we were going through the motions.

The thrill of the chase is a big part of it. As soon as it was completely obvious that they liked me, I lost interest. But, I feel that if was attracted to them for other reasons, I would have continued the relationship.

Out of curiosity, how many times has this happened to you?

I agree. The reason I wanted to create a minimalist site was to know I could. There are many different styles of websites and I was hoping to have some experience with all of them. You're right though, I should stick with the style that I'm good/comfortable with and I shouldn't let trends dictate the direction of my designs.

Good point and thanks. I'll keep that in mind for my next design. It is very difficult for me to be satisfied with my designs, so I'm guessing because of that I kept adding elements which drove it away from minimalism.

I appreciate the input. I already have plans to work on the typography. Now that it's been said, I agree that some of my background images are distracting. I either need to choose a different background altogether or find less distracting photos.

All good points. Do you think darkening the background images would help? or some other effect to decrease their prominence? I lowered the quality on the backgrounds because I was worried about file size. I went with Arial and decreased the letter spacing out of laziness. I will look for another font.
