(Spoilers All) Thoughts on Episode 2x08 - The Prince of Winterfell by CranberryBogMonsterin asoiaf

But Talisa isn't being established as much as she is defining, or redefining, Robb's character.

When thinking about Stannis' in future seasons, think about Theon this year and last. He's obviously much more important this year than last, but we got enough of him last year to get a baseline on who his character was. This year, I think we're getting a similar sketch of Stannis.

They both have the same name, and are (as we've discussed) played by the same actress.

See, I'm not sure Stannis is nearly as important to this season as either your our Sepinwall is giving him credit for.

This season, all he really does is go Red, treat with Renly, on the periphery of Renly's death, and attack King's Landing.

It's in the next book that he gets interesting in my mind.

No Ghost went with Robb north, even as far as going on the ranging. But in the last episode, well before they met Ygritte, Ghost hung back for some reason (I think something to do with the pass itself).

It's the byproduct of being a midseason replacement. They didn't do a full block.

Ironically, Shonda Rhimes' first hit Grey's Anatomy only had nine episodes in its first season as it was also a late mid-season replacement.

A buddy of mine and I have been writing a weekly column about GoT all season long, and we've tackled this particular topic again and again. We're embracing the changes because they're fun, and not at any time do we think they've changed the spirit of the story.

I personally like gaming out what the changes might mean down the road, because these guys are certainly smart enough to have thought things out when they change something even moderately significant.

To me, I think psycho is totally reaching.

He killed Jory to get Ned Stark to attack him. Directly attacking the Hand of the King is a much bigger step than killing a member of his service.

He killed his cousin (Which I think is the worse of the two examples here) in a vain attempt to escape.

Funny, I thought his name was Alton.

Yeah, I actually made a similar point the other day, that in Westeros, a kinslayer is the damnedest of the damned. But, I think, that's just to push him down further so that Book Spoilers All.

This is the type of speculation that I like. The idea of reasoning that something has to happen a certain way because that's the way it happens in the book is getting irritating considering how much the show is proving it will take things in whatever direction that it deems makes sense for telling the narrative in a different medium.

So prior to any announced hostilities towards the North, Reek infiltrated the Pyke to get on board Theon's ship just on the off chance he'd get involved with the real action?

I'm OK with Dagmer taking Reek's place as the instigator in these scenes, but the idea that he might actually be Reek is pushing it a bit for for my tastes :P

I don't know. He's supposed to be a pretty rotten dude here. We don't know a lot of the details about his escape, so I didn't mind the dramatic license.

There have been several things that fans have considered "important parts" that have been changed already. It is all relative :)

Unfortunately, it isn't the reference you think it is.

Froggy is the "character" that GRRM uses on his blog to introduce casting hints:

And he played a pretty good ER doc as well.

They're definitely not unique to Netflix, they were the Production Company tag on the end of each episode where ever it was played (live air, repeats, DVDs, Netflix, Amazon, etc).
