CatchOfTheDay.com.au sale site uses Diablo III to boost site visitor count. Gamers rage as thousands miss out. by PsychoNerd91in Games

Why Facebook needs a dislike button. People can be bait and switched into "liking" them, then if it was misleading there's nothing you can do about it and the company has 10's of thousands of Likes to brag about forever/

Australian Diablo III players are currently seeing average pings upwards of 380ms, rendering the game unplayable at higher difficulties by millionsofjewsin Games

And this all happened becuase they didn't want to put servers near you becuase they deemed you not worth it, end of story.

You might have been watching older versions of the mod, as I've seen quite a few videos on youtube like that as well and they were earlier versions; newer versions have significantly upped zombie populations and general danger.

Ok, that explains it, big difference :)

Every single tier promises a DRM free version, It's really clear and for many people that is a significant reason for backing them and that's why in these projects it's a very commonly advertised feature.

All I can say is I hope you're wrong as they will have a big problem on their hands. If people voluntarily accept it then fine, things like that happen all the time with the Humble Indie bundles where all the games are DRM free but you also get an optional Steam code, in redeeming you have to accept Steams TOS and DRM but the important thing is the games are always available to download from them in their original state, DRM free as promised.

[–]Telekinesis 35 points36 points ago

The game was promised DRM free. As long as it is used strictly for download bandwidth then fine, but it should not ever require Origin to play.

I also do not like the fact I may have to create an Origin account and accept an extensive contract with EA, a 3rd party with many egregious terms in it while my contract of service is between me and inXile. It did not state must accept EA's TOS when they asked for money, if it is mandatory they are adding stipulations on after the fact.

You can see it right there in even the $15 option:

Digital Downloadable copy of game DRM free for PC or MAC OSX or Linux.

If this is an option they want to offer then fine, save some bandwidth, more options are good but they have to make sure they stand up to their original promise they offered backers and that means a 100% DRM free game completely free of needing a 3rd party service to run, or even needing that service installed, and in my opinion requiring you to sign up for an account or accept a 3rd party contract.

Unreal Engine 4 - HI-RES not Low-Res versions of the screenshots of the new engine by Telekinesisin Games

If MS only put 256mb of RAM in the 360 it would have been disastrous, especially trying to compete with the PS3 which would have been in a class of its own rather then them now being relatively similar in specs, so they were smart to listen.

I think they made your characters and or pawn too high a level, I think they didn't want people getting slaughtered and frustrated.

This is a total action hack and slash RPG, so really I think it fits your criteria.

[–]Telekinesis[S] 1 point2 points ago

You're right the wireframes got messed up, Must have uploaded the wrong ones I'll change them out for the proper ones.

Edit: Nope right ones, I've tried re-uploading it 3 times but it shrinks it down to that size, perhaps it's too big, the mountain wireframe is 5120x2800. Screw it I'll just get rid of them.

Unreal Engine 4 - HI-RES not Low-Res versions of the screenshots of the new engine by Telekinesisin Games

[–]Telekinesis[S] 6 points7 points ago

Highest ones that Epic has released as far as I know; have you seen the other ones they're like 640X480 or something. At least with these you can really see them, and even some of the flaws that break the immersion which I find interesting. The Samaritan video released earlier looks better I think but these were more to show off their particle effects.

Edit: Wait a second, I inspected the images and they are 4096×2496+, way more then 1024x624. You have to click on the magnifying glass with the + in it in the top right of the pic to see the full resolution, not just click on the image, imgur's unintuitive with that.

You have to click the magnifying glass with the + sign in it in the top right of the pictures to see the full resolution. Imgur's a little unintuitive with that I think as just clicking on the image doesn't show the full res version.

Those are LOW_RES versions. These are 3-4X the resolution, that's the whole point of the upload.

Edit: Made my own imgur album and found 2 more shots so deleted this submission.

If a singular person on the internet can show that level of respect and integrity and source their images, A multi-billion dollar company doing this for profit - one that has been warned about this countless times - can source their content. It's unprofessional, slimy and dishonest, and most of all there is no good reason not to besides their deliberate attempt of taking credit for something they did not do and trying to make themselves look more intelligent or "in the know" then they actually are. Just like say your buddy told you a joke, IGN goes to the crowd near them and tells the joke right after and takes all the credit while his buddy got hosed. It's a dick move and only dicks do it, and this is supposed to be a professional organization here, and a journalistic one to boot.

This isn't two buddies sharing a pic to each other (which usually they even tell where they go it from), this is a journalistic organization, and they are also doing it to make money. More like means more attention means more times it goes in peoples feeds means more people follow them means more people join or read IGN.

They have been caught taking 100% original content off of reddit that was made for reddit users With titles like "Hey reddit" or "I made this for you reddit" yadda yadda and taking credit for it, but the content creators said they wouldn't care as long as they sourced it. They've been busted many times and have even apologized a few months ago but they seem to be totally addicted to their douchebaggery.

Cracked's Opinion on Diablo 3, and what it means by JakeSteamin gaming

[–]Telekinesis 0 points1 point ago

Having to login to a DRM authentication server does not equal, or have anything to do with multiplayer, and you are not required to connect to nor have another player in order to play.

Diablio III is a single player game with optional Multiplayer. "Deal with it."

[–]Telekinesis 2 points3 points ago

Your point? Some people are aware before hand yes ...does not mean they cannot protest. That's like saying people knew bread was now $100 a loaf a month before hand, now they have no right to complain. Or someone has been buying a brand of car for 10 years and find out a year earlier that the new version of the car is no longer going to come with a sunroof standard while it used to always be included.

Your logic is half baked ...Period.

Cracked's Opinion on Diablo 3, and what it means by JakeSteamin gaming

[–]Telekinesis 0 points1 point ago

You could add a "login screen" to any game and according to your logic every game is now a "multiplayer game" becuase they made you log in. Logging into a server has nothing to do with the game being a multiplayer game. Flash games in the internet get you to log in to save achievements, but they are not multiplayer games. Multiplayer games require other players to complete the game, DIII does not. The log in has is purely for DRM and security purposes to protect their real money auction house revenue stream foremost, and also give you access to the optional multiplayer component. Case in point: ME2 had you log in but has no multiplayer, not even an optional one like Diablo III ...but according to your logic it's a "multiplayer" game now cause you "log in".

Diablo III is a single player game with optional multiplayer. The game can be completed by yourself and the full story experienced without ever needing another player. Before you call people "faggot hipsters", and "they have no friends" as the crux of your argument you should try and get what seems to be some deductive reasoning abilities first.

They're a for profit company that is supposed to be held to journalistic integrity. I always source my content, so I have a right to an opinion, if I can a multi-billion dollar company can rather then being a douche creating a false "I'm hip" image like it actually found this shit or thought it up. You're being manipulated by the same company that own FOX news, which owns IGN.

Capcom: sales of Street Fighter x Tekken "have fallen short of our plan" by Grimantin Games

Seems to be a good overview, simple hex locked characters. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Why-Capcom-Can-t-Release-Street-Fighter-X-Tekken-DLC-Characters-Right-Now-41126.html

What I meant by the whoring word is this has been going on for a long time and every game they have released seems to be getting worse and more extreme, people are wondering "What's next"?

Now they are finally reconsidering their policy due to the poor sales.

[–]Telekinesis -1 points0 points ago

They offered it to them for free to advertize their engine as you can see in this original thread about it, devs posted in their too.

I personally don't have a problem with the Unity engine and I know it saves them a huge amount of money as they have to pay no fees nor royalty fees (Unreal Engine 3 was around 30% of revenue or so you can see if you read the thread).

Capcom: sales of Street Fighter x Tekken "have fallen short of our plan" by Grimantin Games

[–]Telekinesis 13 points14 points ago

They whored the game and treated their customers like shit, people were already skeptical with what they did in SF and they just proved their suspicions correct, and actually blew them out of the water. Honestly, Capcom should respect their customers more, the ridiculous lengths they go to with DLC is distasteful and their hurting their brand(s) and losing their customers trust. Companies spend countless amounts of money to gain trust, respect and fans and they're just treating them like a one night stand.
