Look at your tariffs slider: you have a 70% subsidy on imports, which right now is costing you £6351.1 per day. Combine that with your your daily domestic expenses of £2529.7, and you're spending £8880.8, with an income of only £7061.2.

You mentioned it only happens in certain periods; these are periods when your POPs are buying imported goods en masse, basically on government dime.

I would get rid of the import subsidy altogether unless your POPs are having an extremely hard time meeting their daily needs, because, in addition to costing you all this money, subsidizing imports is going to encourage people to buy foreign goods, which is really going to hamper your domestic industry. I almost always play with reasonably high tariffs; it leads to some belt-tightening for your population early on, but it really pays off when your industrial sector gets strong.

EDIT: this influx of foreign goods is probably also one of the reasons that you're paying £807.1 in industrial subsidies per day to keep your factories afloat: your POPs (and factory owners) aren't buying the goods your factories are producing, because they can get imported goods cheaper.

I think what OP meant was that they got 21 points out of a possible 30 points, not out of 30 games (unless they've somehow played 58 league games this season).

Book Readers, which character perspectives would you like to have read? (Possible Spoilers) by GravyJigsterin gameofthrones

Thank you for this: you're absolutely right; I did misuse the term. For some reason I had it in my head that the difference between high and low fantasy was that one dealt with events on an "epic" or world-spanning scale (like LOTR or ASOIAF), while the other focused on individual adventures and had more of an action-y feel (like the Conan the Barbarian stories).

Going by the links you sent, it looks like I confused the distinction between high and low fantasy with the distinction between high fantasy and sword-and-sorcery.

(also, I don't know where the downvotes came from either; you wrote a great explanation)

Not necessarily a chapter in the series proper, but I feel like Oberyn Martell would make a great candidate for a spin-off. His vague backstory of running around Westeros winning fights and siring bastards has so much potential for a series of sword-and-sorcery* style adventure stories.

In my imagination this takes form as a comic book series.

*not low fantasy; thank you oaktreeanonymous

The exploits of the Brotherhood during the war would make for a great adventure series.

People putting actual effort into relationships that they don't expect to get sex from isn't a rare thing at all. If you avoid spending your time that way, fine, but don't pretend to speak for everyone.

By your logic it would be fine to say that the War of the Roses were fought by the Europeans

This is true. The statement could be more specific, but it's not wrong to the extent that warrants an "Er....Learn your history" response.

Great Britain is the name of the island containing England, Scotland, and Wales, and it certainly did exist at that time. What didn't exist yet was the United Kingdom, which came into being in 1707.

Saying the War of the Roses was fought by the British might be overgeneralizing a bit, since it wasn't fought by all of Britain, but it's technically correct (English people are and were British), and not nearly as ignorant as your first comment implied.

EDIT: to address the point you make below, it's not exactly the same as saying "The Battle of Agnadello was fought between France and Italy in 1509". It would be the same if he said the War of the Roses was fought by Britain, but he didn't.

I think the question was whether or not the producers of the show would go that route. This is an indication that they will.
