First Language by oxygentheifin learnprogramming

[–]Emugod1231 0 points1 point ago

If you're looking for a language to learn, Python is a pretty interesting one. Fairly simplistic. If you're looking for a place to learn programming in general, try out codecademy.com(mostly javascript, some HTML/CSS) or udacity.com(Several different languages).

I usually do get visa gift cards. However, I haven't gotten one this time.

They actually look more expensive than $25. From the sites I've checked, they seem to be around the $40-$100 range. But, they do look nice. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow, I'm leaning towards these right now. They look like solid IEMs. Thanks for the suggestion! And, the reason I'm buying in stores is because I don't own a card to buy it online. And, would you know how they would be with a Zune HD?

Yea, sadly. I don't have a card to buy anything online. Would love to, but can't.

These seem like fairly nice headphones. Might take a look at them. Thanks for the suggestion.

I would love to buy some Grado Labs because I've heard great things about them, but sadly, Best Buy doesn't have Grados. Would really love to buy some Headphones online, but don't have a card to do so.

Do you know which Sennheiser's they were specifically? I've thought about getting myself some HD380s, but never had the money.

Is Minecraft programmed in the same standard edition of Java that is available for download at the Oracle website or is it a "gaming" edition. Do you know what else they may use to create the game? by chazzmcgeein learnprogramming

[–]Emugod1231 1 point2 points ago

It just depends on what you use it for. Could be you're cycling through a list of numbers or an array. You need to be able to increment something to know how many numbers to go by. Say you had a list of groceries. In this list there is carrots, eggs, milk, and bread. Since carrots is at the beginning, you start off with it. However, if you didn't increment by something, you would stay at the first thing on the list. So, you would keep buying carrots over and over and over and over. It never ends. You don't go to the next item and you don't stop buying carrots. Everything you learn in programming is important. Might not seem important to increment an int, but it is.

Also, don't get discouraged. It takes time to become fluent in any language. You won't just pick it up. Give it time. Have fun with it. Also, I wouldn't recommend TheNewBoston. He does give good information, but he delivers it poorly. Check out my links if you have the time. Udacity and Codecademy don't use Java, but they still give you the proper information for starting to learn programming. I would highly recommend starting there. Once you get the hang of it, it will be MUCH easier to learn other languages.

Reading your other comments, it seems you've just started out. Don't do games now. AT ALL. Put them off. Learn small codes here and there. How to create ints, strings, etc. Learn about arrays and methods and ArrayLists.

There are hundreds of more important things you should learn first than to start off with a gaming project similar to Minecraft. It took Notch a few years before he even started Minecraft. And that took him almost 3 years to finish. It will definitely not be easy to create a game yet, unless you use a pre-made engine like RPG Maker or Unity(and even that takes knowledge of programming). Put off making a game for now. It's a tough job.

I've been studying for a year or so now and I still don't understand some of Java's syntax. But, if you want to ignore me and make a game anyway, you might want to visit www.cokeandcode.com. It's a great site and helped me create my first game, albeit a simple space invaders game. However, if you want to really learn programming, I suggest sites like www.udacity.com and www.codecademy.com.

You won't learn how to program overnight. It takes years of training. I hope this doesn't put you off from the world of programming. It's a great skill to learn in our technological world. Good luck to you, and Happy Coding!

Also, sorry for going off topic. But, to answer your question, no. I haven't really looked at it, but it's possible it uses a Java Library called LWJGL (Lightweight Java Game Library). It's just premade code that is easy to use, worth a look.

I don't feel much pain in my shins. It's more along the mid to bottom of my calves. Here's an image: http://i.imgur.com/lVcoF.png It's marked with the red. I think it might be a sprain or strain.

No, it's around my calf area. My foot is fine, besides some discomfort at the ball of my heel. I'm starting to feel pain around my ankle as well. I'll make sure to properly treat it.

Edit: I meant to say at the left bottom-mid section of my leg in my last message. Sorry for the confusion. My foot is mostly fine. No real pains there.

Thanks for your response! The pain feels like a sprain. I can step on my foot, but when I put too much pressure on it, it hurts. It's centered on the left bottom-mid section of my foot. When I apply pressure, it feels like it's pain on my bone, but I can't tell. Also, I probably did put too much strain when I started using my Fivefingers. I am, anyway, a novice in running.

16 year old male. 173 and 5'7". Since I am limited to the resources I have, myself and the outside, I will be attempting(and hopefully succeeding) the Lose Belly Fat Interval Workout. I will start next week. Wednesday, I did a normal run and walk workout. Today, I did the first day of the Couch to 5K workout to see how the HIIT will be. I'm having troubles with warmups and just some exercises to do. I'll need to study up some more. My goal is to lose 40 pounds. If the HIIT doesn't succeed in this, I will start another program.

Giving away CS:GO beta by lonebutterfishin gaming

[–]Emugod1231 0 points1 point ago

Well, probably too late to actually get this, but I wish I could get it. I've been a huge fan of the CS games. Got into it at a young age with 1.5. Got CS:S a few years after that and have logged 200+ hours into it. Sad that Valve don't give away keys by the hours you've played. Too many people getting it that have never played a CS game. Either way, hope the person that gets it will be ecstatic.

Saw this pic yesterday. I checked my schools computers as well, and they were blocked with the same tag. Suspicious. I haven't checked to see if /r/christianity, /r/muslim, or /r/buddhism are blocked, but will try tomorrow.
